Reed

Senior Account Executive

Reed serves as Comrade Digital Marketing’s Senior Account Executive

His approach to client projects is multifaceted, combining his design, communications and management skills. Reed’s creative abilities were apparent from an early age. With a knack for sketching, he founded his high school Art Club and won national recognition for his editorial cartoons. He went on to earn that same role with the University of Cincinnati’s campus newspaper where his sketches reached an audience of 30,000 undergrads.

Reed took the 21st century by storm and was ready for the next step in his career. With this in mind, he founded the eponymous business, REEDnWRITE, where he provided clients with unparalleled design and copywriting services. Invariably, his clients also required specialty programming and digital marketing services. Enter Comrade founders Stan and Ivan who were well-versed in the technical aspects of the business. The rest, as they say, is history. Reed and Comrade teamed up to offer clients a full suite of web services and, ultimately, grow Comrade Digital Marketing into the well-established brand it is today. The driving force behind all Reed’s efforts is his desire to engage creative solutions and work with clients and colleagues who are excited about the evolving digital landscape.

He helps in Website Strategy, Website Technology, Digital Marketing, Content Marketing, Account Management.

A Design Journey Across Continents and Industries

As a graphic design major, Reed embraced photography, typography and illustration en route to his Magna Cum Laude graduate degree. Eager to experience different design environments, he worked at a corporate identity firm in New York, an in-house agency in Baltimore, a package design firm in Chicago, and a global branding firm headquartered in San Francisco (https://landor.com/). Not content to remain solely in the U.S., Reed traveled to London where he worked with the design firms The Partners (a spinoff of https://www.pentagram.com/), The Jenkins Group and Herman Miller.

Reed ultimately returned to his native Chicago to grow ProPlanet Internet Solutions from a traditional printing and graphic design shop into a desktop publishing boutique, and eventually, a web design and marketing firm. After growing the business and its subsidiaries, Reed joined liQuidprint, a web development firm, where he honed his technical and account management skills.

Design and Community in Chicago

A proud Chicago native, Reed believes in giving back to the community. He walks rescue dogs in the local forest preserve and volunteers for Olive’s Neighborhood Garden, an award winning garden that provides handpicked produce for locals in need. When he’s not with his Comrade family or volunteering, Reed enjoys gardening, a good White Sox game and nights sitting by the fireplace with his partner, Margaret.
