Asana is a Web-based team collaboration service that specializes specifically in workflow management. Businesses use it to keep track of the daily to-dos of work while also giving employees a better way to follow the status of jobs without getting distracted by email.
Basecamp provides a project management solution for organizing both internal team projects, as well as client projects. You can decide to limit permissions and views for project items, as well as entire projects. This allows you to share certain items with clients while keeping other items private among your teammates.
Individuals and small teams of up to 15 people can use Asana for free with a few restrictions. With a free account, you get all the core features, such as due dates and the ability to upload attachments, as well as unlimited tasks, projects, and conversations.

Asana is a pretty basic software, you can write down a task that needs to get done, assign it to a particular person, give that person a due date, and keep an eye on whether and when she or he completes it. If you want other functionality, you’ll have to download and attach separate applications.
Basecamp is especially useful when you need to communicate with team members who were physically distant, specifically those working in different time zones, as it doesn’t offer real-time status updates. Additionally, one of the biggest benefits of basecamp is its proficient handling of images and artwork. If you upload image URLs to a project discussion, Basecamp displays the image rather than merely the link.
One of the biggest drawbacks to Basecamp, however, it that it feels more broken into pieces and there is little cohesion between the different sections.
Some argue that, because Asana and Basecamp are more “bare” platforms, they are, therefore, “customizable”. We respectfully disagree. We see much more merit in keeping all applications under the same umbrella, like in Bitrix 24, giving you access to them at all times and removing the confusing “set-up” time looking for the right applications to add. While Basecamp does not provide phone or live chat support, they are known for responding quickly to email requests (the average wait time being 2 minutes) and offering a large variety of ready-made aids and live training tools.
